Why Study Sanskrit?
Vedic Sanskrit is widely thought to be the oldest language of the Indo-Iranian language family and the source from which our own language springs.
The word ‘Sanskrit’ means “perfectly formed” and, as its name suggests, it is perfectly formed with its grammar intact, providing the basis for the understanding of the laws which govern language.
Sanskrit has been recommended as the best language for use in Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence by NASA because it is the only language in the world which is scientifically precise.
Its extensive literature contains texts with deep philosophical meaning which are just as practically valid today as when formulated by the ancient Vedic seers.
Sanskrit is a very beautiful language, not only in its written form but
most particularly in its sound.
